About Catherine

Catherine Long is better known as @Catherinelovescolor, or the Ice Queen! Catherine started her love affair in the professional beauty industry 26 years ago in Seattle, Washington, but is now a Michigan based colorist. She is an exclusive Behind The Chair team member, and private color and balayage educator. One might say she’s a color addict!

Catherine is the winner of the 2018 OneShot Behind the Chair awards in the “Hairpaint” category, and was named one of Modern Salon’s Top 100 artists of 2017. Her sponsorships with many popular hair care lines include OligoPro, Olaplex, Virtuelabs and Framar. She is truly passionate about helping other colorists learn new techniques and perfect their craft.

Lil’ Kim Approves!

In 2018, Catherine began working with recording artist, Lil’ Kim, doing custom colors for the female rapper. Catherine was made a part of Lil’ Kim’s fabulous, “Queen Team,” as a result of her beautiful work!
